Panasonic SC-EN25 CD Micro System
My 11 year old son recently saved all his money to buy this cd system, and we all love it. It had easy to follow connection directions, is compact enough to keep the unit and speakers together, or you can spread the speakers out to spread the sound out a bit more. He loves that it has a remote control, and he can just lay in bed and flip through radio stations or cd tracks. I love that it has a sleep timer, allowing him to still fall asleep listening to music, but it shuts itself off after a preset time. The volume control is very gradual. So many systems have (in reality) either loud or soft, and it's hard to find an in between. This has a number system, something like 1-50, and it actually does gradually get louder or softer! Since our room is right next door, we were able to compromise and find a real volume number that is his limit so we don't have to hear his tunes all night long. We're all very pleased with it.
Sony MHC-EC55 Mini Hi-Fi Component System
Excellent sound quality. I was hoping it was going to be a little smaller. It is rather large for a mini, but the sound makes it worth a bit more size. I'd like to crank it up all the way, but I'm afraid my neighbors will call the police. The sound doesn't break up at all. If you like really loud, good quality sound, this one's for you.
(It's not huge, just bigger than I expected.)
COBY MP-CD521 Personal MP3/CD Player with 120 Second Anti-Skip Protection
This is a great little portable. I use it in my car and love it to death. The sound quality is great, and the 120-sec skip protection works perfectly, In fact, in the two days I have been driving around with it (and I drive a LOT), it hasn't skipped once.
Where else ya gonna find a portable CD/MP3 player for less than 25 bucks?! And a good one to boot!
Emerson PD5098 Portable CD Player with AM/FM Radio
I bought this CD player for it's size. We use it on our kitchen, where it fits nicely on a shelf.
Aside from being a space saver, there isn't much to say about this unit. It plays CDs fine and hasn't had any trouble playing discs I've burned using iTunes. Being able to see the disc spinning is kind of cool.
There are only two things I don't really like about this player: the AM/FM radio tuner and the volume control. The radio tuner is not digital, so you have to manually tune in a station every time you want to listen to the radio. It does seem to get pretty good reception though. The volume doesn't go up very high. Don't get me wrong, it's loud enough, it's just not loud enough for me to hear well from the other room. Of course, some might see this as a positive thing.
Overall, I would recommend this CD player if all you need are bare bones CD player functions.
COBY CX-CD241 Portable CD Player with AM/FM Radio
I bought this small Coby CD player because I'm a spa consultant with BeautiControl so I go to other people's homes and Spa them...I needed to play my spa music, quietly, so it's perfect. The volume won't even blast your ear drums if you turn it all the way up. And, if I forget to ask my hostess if she has a stereo in the room I don't have to worry about it if I just bring this with me. Saves me the trouble and I don't need to worry about leaving my CD in her stereo afterwards. I was also looking for a light weight CD player because I bring a lot of other things with me also. It's great! I can plug it in or use batteries. I also plan to use it to bring music outdoors when I host parties out on the deck this summer.
